How would you describe your morning routine?
It varies, but I usually get in by 9:15 AM. I would like to personally thank NYC’s public transportation system for reinvigorating my reading habits throughout the many hours we’ve spent together. Once I’m off the subway (and done reading), I either call my aunt or listen to Michael Jackson while trying not to dance in public (because social norms).
What’s your staple work outfit?
I’m still figuring this out. Right now I’m trying to go for more of a fun, casual vibe that’s cool but not Anna-Wintour-cool.
What kind of projects have you worked on so far?
I really like that every day here is so different. Sometimes I’m doing research in the Intelligence Center or helping my team prepare a presentation, and occasionally I get to go to a shoot!
Where do you go for lunch?
My manager from my last rotation (shoutout to Leah!) introduced me to Sunac and it is SO GOOD. I usually pick up something from their salad bar, but they have so much to offer! Plus, it’s a nice walk to and from the office.
How do you break up your work day?
On my last rotation I would bother my desk buddy, Jen, and ask her to listen to some strange song I found. Sorry about that (not really, though). But I'm a big fan of picking up and working from various little cubbies and chairs all throughout the office. ALSO coffee/hot chocolate runs are essential.
What is your favorite spot in the office?
The views from the 9th and 10th floors looking east. Final answer.
How do you wind down after a long day at work?
If it’s been a really long day, I will walk (most of the way) home. I think I live 4 - 5 miles away from the office so that’s a little extreme, but the city gives me energy and tends to reinvigorate me. I also stalk this website called theskint.com for random events happening in the city. I’ve gone to a couple book signings and shows after work, so that’s always a nice treat.
When you're not in the office, what do you like to do around NYC?
I do something different every weekend! But Central Park is my home base and true thrive zone.
