Where do you go to college & what are you studying?
University of Virginia, major in American Studies/minor in Religious Studies
Team you’re working on here at Ogilvy?
I work on the account management team on IBM. I specifically work on IBM's consolidated advertising, which is at the global brand level. The work that my team does encompasses IBM's large brand platforms that run all across the world! On the account management team, our main job is to correspond with clients as well as with different teams within the agency to make sure everything is on track.
How would you describe your morning routine?
I usually work out in the mornings, then shower in the Ogilvy locker rooms. I head to the cafeteria to grab breakfast and then I aim to be at my desk before 9. Once at my desk, I’ll go through my emails and check my calendar for the day. The mornings usually consist of status meetings, working on individual work for the intern project, and updating content ideas for IBMblr, a project that I am working on all summer.
What’s your staple work outfit?
A summer dress and sandals.
Where do you go for lunch?
Cafeteria! Salad bar is great.
What’s your favorite spot in the office?
The window on 11 by the elevator is the best view in the office.
When you’re not in the office, what do you like to do around NYC?
I like to walk in Central Park, try new dessert places, and explore different fitness studios.
How did you hear about Ogilvy & this internship?
I found this internship through campus recruiting at UVA.
What do you think is special about this Ogilvy internship?
This internship is extremely hands-on and immersive. By my third week, I was fully incorporated into meetings and tasks for specific projects. I truly feel like a part of my team! Working on the intern project is also a great way to grasp exactly how to create a campaign and a nice way to bond with other interns.
What do you wish you knew about Ogilvy before you started your internship here?
I wish I knew how much of a founder's culture this agency still has. I definitely think this is a positive thing and it was exciting to learn this through my internship.
What are you looking forward to in your senior year of college?
I'm excited to experience another fall season of football in Virginia and to take a few marketing classes!
