Concentration: Peace and Conflict Studies
Team you’re working on here at Ogilvy?
I’m interning on the Account Management team for Comcast Business. This experience has been versatile because the projects my team were working on at the beginning of the summer have completely changed to what they’re working on right now. I was immediately immersed in helping with the Competitive Review at the start of my internship but have since been helping my manager put together creative briefs, internal job aids, and sales sheets for new campaigns. I attend meetings with my team and have interacted with different areas of the agency through the account management experience. I also put together a Weekly Newsletter for my team that consolidates new competitive creative and headlines, as well as the top news headlines of the week.
How would you describe your morning routine?
My morning routine begins by doing a workout for soccer, since I play for my school’s team. Then I take the subway to 49th street and walk to the office from there. I love the morning commute because I get to listen to my “discover weekly” playlist on Spotify.
What’s your staple work outfit?
Usually comfortable pants, a shirt, and sandals. Anything that isn’t unbearable to wear in the subway.
Where do you go for lunch?
I’ve been to Gotham Market a few times with my team- very good, highly recommend. Or I grab lunch in the cafeteria with fellow interns.
What’s your favorite spot in the office?
The 7th floor kitchen area has free coffee, a lot of windows, and good vibes.
When you’re not in the office, what do you like to do around NYC?
I spend my time out of the office checking out cool places in NYC with my friends from school. We usually gravitate towards places that have great yelp reviews.
How did you hear about Ogilvy and this internship?
I found out about this internship through a friend on my soccer team who had the same internship last summer. I applied through my school’s career center and heard back from Ogilvy in March.
What do you think is special about this Ogilvy internship?
The fact that you get to experience so many different parts of the agency through the “lunch and learn” series and through the internship project has been an amazing experience. The internship overall is very hands on and immersive so you are always learning something new.
What do you wish you knew about Ogilvy before you started your internship here?
The culture here values learning and growth which made it easy to jump right in as an intern. My Comcast team and the other interns were helpful and inclusive right off the bat. Ogilvy fosters an environment where you are comfortable reaching out to people and asking questions. I wish I knew this in the days leading up to the internship because it would have eliminated a lot of nerves.
What are you looking forward to in your senior year of college?
Going into my senior year I hope to enjoy one last year “on the hill” in Worcester with my friends and appreciate everyone/everything that has gotten me to this point.
